A family run business specialising in selling beautiful and original handmade products from around the world.
All of the products are fair and ethically traded and most of our suppliers are either members of BAFTS (British Association of Fairtrade Shops and Suppliers) or WFTO (World Fair Trade Organisation). Those who aren’t members of these organisations can show a long term commitment to working with craft communities on a fair trade basis.
We have a love of the products we sell and have been trading and involved in fair trade and craft made products for 30 years.
All of our products are handmade using recycled, up-cycled and/or locally sourced sustainable materials. In most cases our products support traditional craft skills helping to sustain and preserve the culture and livelihoods of craft making communities and local indigenous people.

S.A.L.V.E. International was founded in February 2008 by Helen Huthwaite, Nicola Sansom and Mike Asiya. As a group they found it impossible to ignore the number of children living and working on the streets. It may have become part of everyday life in Jinja but it was their passionate belief that something more could be done.
So S.A.L.V.E. International was begun, giving children on the streets a halfway home, support to be able to resettle with their family, education and hope for the future.
The British Associaton for Fairtrade Shops was set up in 1995 and incorporates organisations which sell fairly traded goods, whether on a wholesale or retail basis. Members work to bring about changes in the status of developing world producers through Fair Trade retailing and campaigning. They offer advice to, and provide a community for, fair trade shops and suppliers, sharing ideas and best practices.
